The Accra Regional Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of 26-year-old Mabel Asantewaa, who was allegedly stabbed by her fiancé at Chinese, near the Tuba Tollbooth area in the Central region, on September 10, 2025.
According to a police statement, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, identified only as Samuel, allegedly stabbed Mabel in the neck inside her room.
After the attack, Samuel reportedly attempted to take his own life by consuming a poisonous substance and was later found unconscious.

He was rushed to the Kasoa Polyclinic, where medical officers say he remains unconscious but stable.
Police officers who visited the scene found the victim lying in a pool of blood. The Crime Scene Management Team has since taken over for a detailed investigation.
The Accra Regional Police Command urged the public to remain calm as investigations continue, assuring that further updates will be provided.
