F.C. Samartex coach Christopher Ennin has admitted that the team needs to find wins as a matter or urgency.
The former Ghana Premier League champions are winless after three matches, with the latest result being a stalemate at Nations F.C.
Reflecting on the result, Ennin was encouraged but also honest in his assessment.
‘‘Coming to play here and getting a draw, I think it is not a bad thing but I still need to work so that we can get the wins because three draws (mean that) we are still behind so we have to go and work and bounce back.’’
On his game plan, the former Berekum Chelsea coach had no regrets about his approach.
‘‘Definitely, it was an instruction (to keep things tight at the back. We watched a lot of their videos, even as late as last night (the night before the match) I watched them and I saw their strengths so I decided to focus on the strengths and capitalize on their weaknesses.’’
Sunday's result was preceded by similar draws; goalless against ten-man Vision F.C. on the opening weekend of the season, and 1-1 at home to Karela United.
Ennin was hired in December last year, following the exit of Nurudeen Amadu.
In twenty Premier League matches last season, Ennin guided Samartex to 34 points, ending the season with 51 points in total and in fifth place.
The Timber Boys will face former champions Aduana Stars on Sunday, at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex in their next league match.
