Ranking Member of Parliament’s Information and Communications Committee, Mathew Nyindam, has criticised Information Minister Sam George over his recent actions regarding the ongoing DStv pricing saga in the country.
Speaking on JoyNews’ The Pulse on Wednesday, the Kpandai legislator said the minister’s posture and handling of the issue do not reflect the image of the presidency, describing his approach as “arrogant.”
"We (minority) think that his communications, his actions, his this, do not reflect the presidency; it is non-Ghanaian on his part. It doesn't show maturity."
His comments follow a statement issued by the managers of DStv in Ghana addressing recent developments concerning their pricing structure in the country.
Mr Nyindam argued that the minister’s conduct is unbecoming of his office and asserted that the President must intervene by removing him from office.
"If he wants to keep his position, then he should rethink again; other than that, we think that his attitude and all that he is saying, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama should re-look at him again because he is actually disgracing his communication ministry."
The DStv saga has sparked public debate in recent weeks, with stakeholders calling for a balanced and transparent resolution to the pricing concerns.
