The 2024 NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Zebila, Dr. John Kingsley Krugu, has urged fellow Kusasis to reject tribal politics, which he described as divisive and dangerous to their peace and the future of their children.
In an article, Dr. Krugu, a Kusasi, decried the tribal campaign being waged against former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, with some using his Mamprusi lineage against him due to the Kusasi-Mamprusi crisis in Bawku.
The 2024 Zebila NPP candidate, however, noted that campaigning against Bawumia because of his tribe smacks of “inherited hatred,” which would further deepen the division between the two tribes and pose serious threats to their children’s future.
He therefore urged his fellow Kusasis being called upon to do so, to reject such divisive appeals and instead embrace politics of issues, peace, and togetherness.
