Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven says the team felt the absence of Ghana star Mohammed Kudus during their 4-0 Champions League win over Copenhagen.
Kudus, who missed the game with a minor injury, has been a standout performer since joining Spurs in the summer transfer window.
The Ghana international’s creativity and pace have added a new dimension to Tottenham’s attack under manager Thomas Frank.
Van de Ven, speaking after Tuesday’s match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, described Kudus as an exceptional talent whose influence extends beyond goals and assists.
“Mohammed Kudus is an unbelievable player and we missed him in the game against Copenhagen,” the Dutch defender told Telecom Asia.
“Hopefully he will be fit for us at the weekend against Manchester United. He’s an important player for us and I don’t know the details of his absence, but hopefully he should be back for us.”
Tottenham dominated proceedings against the Danish champions, securing their third group-stage win despite missing Kudus.
The 25-year-old has recorded one goal and four assists in 15 appearances this season, proving his value in both domestic and European competition.
Kudus, who joined from West Ham United, is expected to return soon as Tottenham prepare for a crucial Premier League clash with Manchester United.
