The 2025 edition of the African Paralympic Committee (AfPC) General Assembly took place at the Marriot Hotel in Accra, Ghana.
The event brought together representatives from 42 national Paralympic Committees alongside 20 international observers.
Dignitaries from Ghana who attended the assembly included the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, Director-General of the National Sports Authority, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, and President of the Ghana Armwrestling Association, Charles Osei Asibey, among others.
Speaking at the event, African Paralympic Committee President Samson Deen highlighted the significance of the gathering:
“The purpose is to come together, strengthen our bonds, unite, and think positively about how we can develop our sport,” he said.
He added, “So far, it has been a successful assembly, with 42 national Paralympic Committees and 20 international observers here to help shape the future of our region.”

The assembly also recognized the contributions of the African Paralympic Committee’s Executive Board members, awarding those who have played a pivotal role in advancing Paralympic sports across the continent.
