The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, has announced that multiple screening centres will be established nationwide for the upcoming internal security services recruitment exercise, following the tragic incident at the El-Wak Sports Stadium that claimed six lives and left several others injured.
Addressing a press conference in Accra on Friday, he noted that major metropolitan areas, particularly Accra, will see significant decentralisation to prevent overcrowding.
“For areas like Accra, where we expect very large numbers, we are looking at possibly between 10 to 15 centres a day to ensure there is no overcrowding at all the centres,” he stated.
According to the Minister, the centres will be strategically located across all regions to ensure accessibility and convenience for applicants.
The exercise will be regionally based, allowing applicants to undergo screening close to where they live.
Depending on turnout, some regions may operate up to 10 centres simultaneously to avoid congestion and ensure a safe, orderly process.
