The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, has said that the upcoming nationwide security services recruitment exercise will be conducted on a strictly merit-based and transparent basis.
Addressing journalists on Friday, November 14, Mr Mubarak dismissed claims that selection had already commenced, describing such reports as false.
He assured the public that under the watch of President John Dramani Mahama, no preferential treatment or early selection would occur.
“Nothing has started. Nobody in this Service will call, and nobody will tell you that there is some other route to get into this recruitment,” he emphasised.
The Minister further addressed concerns over potential scams, urging applicants to remain vigilant against individuals claiming they can guarantee selection in exchange for money.
“We are going to create channels through which you can lodge complaints. Even if you have recordings of people claiming they can assist you or demanding money, provide them to us. We will be able to track them and deal with the perpetrators,” he stated.
Mr Mubarak stressed that the recruitment system will select qualified candidates solely based on merit and that any attempts to circumvent the process would be met with strict action.
He advised applicants to rely only on official communications and report any suspicious activities immediately to avoid falling victim to fraud.
Meanwhile, the recruitment exercise for the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Ghana Immigration Service will now begin on Monday, November 17, instead of Saturday.
