Swedru All Blacks were held to a goalless draw by Young Apostles in their Matchweek 12 Ghana Premier League clash on Sunday at the Swedru Sports Stadium.
Coming off a hard-fought victory against Dreams FC, the Black Magicians aimed to secure back-to-back home wins, but they were met by a well-organised and disciplined Young Apostles side.
Ahmed Fathi’s hopes of recording a third consecutive home victory were halted as the visitors stayed compact and limited All Blacks to half-chances throughout the match.
Young Apostles, eager to end a three-game winless streak, produced a solid defensive display and will be content to return to Wenchi with a point. They created several opportunities of their own but, like the hosts, lacked the finishing touch in the final third.
The evenly balanced contest saw both teams carve out chances, yet poor finishing and strong defensive organisation from both sides meant neither could find a breakthrough.
Swedru All Blacks will aim for an improved result when they travel to face Eleven Wonders, while Young Apostles continue their away run with a fixture against Vision FC.
