Ghanaian swimmers Jada Yankey and Rihanna Yankey have been honoured with the Newham & University of East London Swimming Club International Awards at the club’s end-of-year celebrations.
The award is presented to athletes who have represented their countries at international swimming competitions.
Both swimmers earned the honour after an impressive 2025 season, competing on both regional and international stages.
Jada impressed at the Africa Aquatics Zone 2 Championships in Accra, winning silver in the 400m freestyle. Ghana’s junior team finished the competition with a total of 43 medals.
Rihanna, meanwhile, represented Ghana at the World Aquatics Junior Championships held in Otopeni, Romania.

The recognition from the Newham & University of East London Swimming Club underscores the impact of their performances beyond national borders.
Jada and Rihanna continue to establish themselves as two of Ghana’s most promising young swimmers heading into the future.
