The campaign team of former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has denied claims by NPP presidential hopeful Kennedy Agyapong that he did not support the party’s parliamentary candidate in the Adenta Constituency.
During a campaign tour of Adenta on Sunday, January 11, Kennedy Agyapong alleged that Dr Bawumia refused to campaign for Akosua Manu because her opponent, Mohammed Ramadan of the NDC, is his relative by marriage.
He also described Adenta as a “traditional NPP seat” that the party lost due to Dr Bawumia’s absence.

In response, Akosua Manu, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Adenta in the 2024 elections, shared videos and pictures on her social media pages showing Dr. Bawumia actively campaigning for her and previous NPP candidates in the constituency.
The posts highlighted Dr Bawumia’s participation in campaign events in 2020 with Yaw Buaben Asamoah and in 2024 with Akosua Manu herself, directly contradicting Mr Agyapong’s claims.

The campaign team emphasised that the visual evidence posted by Akosua Manu demonstrates Bawumia’s consistent support for NPP parliamentary candidates in Adenta, dismissing Agyapong’s assertion as inaccurate.
