Birmingham City have completed the signing of Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman on loan from Premier League side Brighton for the remainder of the season.

The 21-year-old joins the Championship outfit after being recalled from his loan spell at French club Auxerre, where he made 16 appearances and provided two assists in Ligue 1.

Osman moved to Brighton from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland in 2024 for a reported £16 million following stiff competition for his signature. Before that, he enjoyed a productive loan spell with Feyenoord, featuring 32 times across all competitions.

The Black Stars winger was particularly impressive in the Netherlands last season, scoring three goals and providing three assists in 22 Eredivisie matches, while also making seven appearances in the UEFA Champions League.

Brighton believe a move to the English Championship will offer Osman the regular playing time needed to continue his development as he adapts to English football.

A right-footed winger capable of operating on either flank, Osman is expected to provide competition for Birmingham City’s first-choice wide players Demarai Gray and Patrick Roberts during the second half of the campaign.

He becomes Birmingham City’s third loan signing from Brighton this season, following earlier deals for goalkeeper James Beadle and defender Eiran Cashin, who has since joined Blackburn Rovers. Osman is also the club’s third signing of the January transfer window, after the arrivals of Kai Wagner and Jhon Solis in the Second City.
