VRMG has confirmed that musician Agbeko is currently stable and at home under the care of his mother, following consultations and agreement among his family, close friends and medical professionals.
According to the organisation, the decision to transition Agbeko from institutional care was reached collectively, with all parties aligned on prioritising his well-being, dignity and continued support in a familiar environment. He remains surrounded by family and those closest to him.
VRMG said it became involved during a challenging period in Agbeko’s life and offered rehabilitation assistance out of concern for his safety and access to appropriate care. The support, it noted, was extended in good faith and in coordination with those directly responsible for his welfare.
The organisation expressed appreciation for the concern and goodwill shown by members of the public, industry colleagues and well-wishers throughout the period, describing the support as a reflection of the importance of empathy and shared responsibility within the creative community.
VRMG wished Agbeko continued strength and recovery and respectfully appealed for his privacy, as well as that of his family, to be respected at this time.
