Member of Parliament for Kpandai, Matthew Nyindam, has expressed strong confidence in former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s ability to lead Ghana, saying he deserves an equal opportunity to become President of the Republic.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Nyindam praised Dr. Bawumia for the personal support he received during the legal battle over his parliamentary seat, describing him as a brother who stood by him throughout the ordeal.
“People have said many things about others in the past, yet they still went on to become presidents. So obviously, Bawumia can also be given an equal opportunity and become President of the Republic of Ghana,” he said.
According to the Kpandai MP, Dr. Bawumia consistently checked on his welfare and offered assistance during the court process, which he described as a difficult period in his political career.
Mr. Nyindam also disclosed that while former Minister Bryan Acheampong initially reached out when the case began, he did not hear from him again. He added that Dr. Bawumia’s support remained constant from start to finish.
He further stated that Dr. Bawumia’s show of solidarity and leadership qualities make him deserving of the presidency.
