Richard Nyama, a prominent figure within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed strong optimism about the prospects of former Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.
Writing on Facebook on Friday, January 30, Nyama predicted that Dr Bawumia would record a commanding win, potentially achieving one of the highest margins in the party’s internal elections.
“It is my prediction that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will have a landslide victory and it won’t be below 65 per cent and could go as high as 70 per cent,” he wrote.
According to Nyama, the former Vice President’s campaign momentum and acceptance within the party place him in a stronger position than during the previous primary contest.
“He is going to do better than he did in 2023,” he noted.
The projection reflects growing expectations within sections of the NPP that the upcoming primaries will deliver a clear outcome, as the party prepares to reorganise following its defeat in the 2024 general elections.
