The Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on party members to put aside grievances and reconcile after the recent campaign season, stressing that unity is essential as the party prepares for future political engagements.
Speaking at the National Thanksgiving Service held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on Sunday, February 15, 2026, Dr. Bawumia appealed to party faithful to move past hurt caused by heated campaign exchanges.
“On this day as we celebrate and give thanks together, I want to ask all of us, from the bottom of my heart, that we forgive each other for some of the unpalatable things we may have said during the campaign,” he said.
He added,“I have been encouraged by the efforts many of you have made to reach out to your brothers and sisters after the elections. Though I know the exercise of healing is not yet completed, I believe we have started well, and I commend all patriots for the steps taken so far."
Dr. Bawumia urged all members to embrace reconciliation and work collectively toward the NPP’s long-term goals, saying that only through solidarity can the party achieve lasting success.
His message comes amid the party’s ongoing efforts to strengthen cohesion among members and foster a spirit of collaboration and mutual respect.
