Former Nasara Coordinator in the United States of America, Alhaji Ali Suraj has declared his intentions to contest for the position of National Nasara Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) when nominations are officially opened.
His announcement comes as the party prepares for its national executive elections in the coming months.
In a statement issued after the party’s presidential primaries, which elected Dr. Alhaji Mahmud Bawumia as flagbearer, Mr. Suraj said his decision follows extensive reflection and encouragement from party supporters, stakeholders, and members of the Nasara fraternity.
He explained that his decision was driven by calls for renewed leadership grounded in the founding values and democratic ideals of both the NPP and the Nasara wing.
Alhaji Suraj has served on various party committees and has received strong grassroots support across the country.
He outlined a vision aimed at consolidating the party’s gains in Zongo and settler communities ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Among his key policy priorities are the establishment of a National Nasara administration, building a year-round bridge between the party and Muslim communities, resourcing a vibrant Nasara wing, and creating a welfare-driven system to enhance mobilisation efforts.
“I appeal to party members for support, stressing that the Nasara wing needs experienced leadership to help secure victory for the NPP in 2028,” he noted.
