The Founder and Creative Director of Bullhaus Entertainment, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, widely called Bullgod, has shared how devastating it is to spend time in Ghana’s prison cells.
He stated that he spent a few days in police custody after being arrested and detained on the directives of former President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.
Speaking on Changes on Joy Prime, Bullgod described the experience as scary and said it is not a place he would wish for anyone to be.
“I was held at the BNI cells for three days then I was moved from the BNI cells because they cannot prosecute me and they handed me over to the police. When I was done with my interrogation with the police, I was locked up for another two days. They made sure I was put in the hardest cells you can ever find in Accra. Like where they put armed robbers, rapists, killers, etc.”
“The place is scary,” he told the host Roselyn Felli, adding that it’s not a place he wishes for anybody to be.
He further revealed that the sting in the cells is horrible as there's no enough ventilation. He noted that the washrooms are not sufficient for the inmates, making then struggle to ease themselves.
The terrible experience he encountered stemmed from him voicing his opinions and grievances in public, as he was a victim of the Menzgold saga, which was shut down by the Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo-led administration, causing him to lose over 1 million cedis.
Following that, Bullgod has consistently expressed his dislike for the former president.
Based on his experience in the cells, the talent manager has introduced an initiative dubbed “Adopt a Cell” to help improve conditions in Ghana’s prisons and make them more comfortable for inmates.
