The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has moved to correct what it describes as misleading media reports suggesting that businessman Nana Yaw Duodu, popularly known as Dr. Sledge of Godridge Ghana Limited, has been cleared of corruption by a court.

In a statement released on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the OSP sought to set the record straight regarding the status of its investigation into the operations of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) between 2020 and 2024.

"For the avoidance of doubt, the OSP has not filed any criminal charges in court against Dr. Sledge. And no court has pronounced on his guilt or innocence," the statement read.

The anti-corruption body emphasised that its investigation into the matter, which implicates Dr. Sledge in transactions approximating $94 million, is still ongoing.

The clarification comes in the wake of media reports concerning a High Court decision related to assets belonging to the businessman. The OSP confirmed that in 2025, it had frozen assets belonging to Dr. Sledge, specifically vehicles valued at GHC18 million. However, in January 2025, the High Court refused to confirm the freezing of those assets.

The OSP revealed it has since taken legal steps to challenge the court's refusal and has also acted to "re-secure and freeze the assets."

According to the statement, the assets in question "remain frozen and are under the authority, protection, and preservation of the OSP in the public interest."

The Office added that it is continuing its tracing operations to identify and freeze any additional assets suspected to be tainted.

The OSP reiterated its commitment to seeing the investigation.

"Upon the conclusion of the investigation, any person against whom sufficient evidence is established will be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction," the OSP assured the public.
