Nigerian singer, Omah Lay, has opened up about a recent heartbreak, revealing that the relationship lasted only two months despite its initial potential.
Speaking at the listening party of his forthcoming album, ‘Clarity Of Mind,’ Omah Lay told the audience that he thought it was a serious relationship and even wanted to have a baby with the lady.
He said, unfortunately, the relationship packed up while he was at the 2025 Grammys in early February.
“Every time I fall in love, I lose myself. While I was at the Grammy and Justin Bieber was performing, I was having a breakup and an embarrassing moment.
“While I was at the Grammys, I was not present because even before the show, I had already started having issues in my relationship. And this was only a two-month-old relationship. But I thought it was the right relationship and I was going to have a baby,” he said.
Omah Lay revealed that he struggles with multitasking and even combining a romantic relationship with making music.
The singer said this was what inspired his song ‘Don’t Love Me.’
“I don’t know how to do two things at a time. When I am into one thing, all of me is into that. So, I wasn’t even present at the Grammys. I didn’t even enjoy anything.
“So my song ‘Don’t Love Me’ is me saying girl, let’s enjoy this moment, but as soon as I find another thing that gives me pleasure, I’m going to leave,” Omah Lay explained.
