A 32-year-old motor rider has been crushed to death at Bibiani WAPCO in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
The deceased, identified as Charles Wireko Brobbey, a pharmacist, was reportedly on his way home after closing from his pharmaceutical shop when the incident occurred.
According to an eyewitness, James Atinko, he noticed a crowd gathered at the scene and moved closer, only to find that the victim had veered into a gutter following a collision involving a Kia Forlan vehicle.
He said he attempted to rescue the victim but realised he had already died by the time he was pulled from the gutter.
Speaking to the media, the wife of the deceased, Priscilla Wireko Brobbey, recounted the painful moment she received news of her husband’s death.
Meanwhile, the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, led by Emmanuel Osei, has arrested the suspected driver to assist with investigations.
The body has been deposited at the Bibiani Government Hospital morgue.
