Personnel from the Anyaa Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) successfully contained a domestic fire outbreak at Race Course Rasta Park on Monday, July 7, preventing the blaze from spreading to nearby apartments.

According to the GNFS, the distress call was received through the Fire Master Control at 6:13 p.m., with firefighters dispatched a minute later under the command of ADOII Tetteh David Quansah.

The crew arrived at the scene at 6:33 p.m., brought the fire under control by 7:05 p.m., and completely extinguished it at 8:00 p.m.

The fire completely destroyed a one-bedroom chamber-and-hall apartment and partially damaged a two-bedroom chamber-and-hall apartment.

However, the swift response by firefighters prevented the flames from spreading further, successfully salvaging five other chamber-and-hall apartments.

No casualties were recorded in the incident. The Ghana National Fire Service said the cause of the fire is yet to be established and remains under investigation.
