The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works in parts of the Central, Eastern and Western Regions on Thursday, August 13.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, August 11, the exercise is aimed at improving service delivery and will result in temporary power outages in several communities during the maintenance period.
ECG said the affected customers should expect interruptions at different times depending on their location, with the outages scheduled to last between four and seven hours.
Central Region
In the Central Region, the planned maintenance works are scheduled to take place from 9:00am to 4:00pm on Thursday.
The affected areas include American Town, New Market, Colomba, Akweley, Ofaako, Papaase, Jei Krodua, Adawukwa and Bawjiase township, as well as surrounding communities.
Eastern Region
Two separate sets of communities in the Eastern Region will also be affected by the exercise.
The first group is scheduled to experience an outage from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
The affected areas are Saarfi, Ahantang, Ampayoo, Ataaso, Owusukrom, Apradang, Yawkorkor, Akroma Gold and Oworobrs, Insuta Everyday, Adensua Mission, Isaac Hotel, Abenase, Bandoh, Abusco, Akutuase and Starting Point.
For another group of communities in the Eastern Region, the planned interruption will run from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
These areas include Amanase, Mankrong, Asuboi, Kyekyewere and Ayeeh Apeatu.
Western Region
In the Western Region, ECG has scheduled the maintenance exercise from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
The affected communities are Amobaka, Diaso, Modaso, Ankwaso Juabo, Wassa Ayiem, Sraha, Agona Port, Ntom, New Obuasi, Nyinawusu, Some Asamang, Akwaboso, Subin and Ameyaw, together with surrounding areas.

ECG said the planned interruptions form part of its efforts to carry out maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply.

ECG reiterated that it regrets the inconvenience the planned maintenance exercise may cause as it works to improve service delivery.
