The Accra Medical Center (AMC) has built a new 45-bed capacity ultramodern hospital facility as part of efforts to support government in the provision of quality health care in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Hospital officially opened the new facility last Friday to the public.
Board Chair of the Medical Centre, Moses Clocuh, indicated that the hospital thought it necessary to expand its services to meet clients' requests.
“We started in 2011, and over the years, our clients and patients asked for more. They wanted a one-stop-shop, they enjoyed the service we gave, and they wanted everything in house, so we decided to expand our services, and that led to this project.”
Today, the Accra Medical Centre, through its newly built 45-bed capacity hospital facility, can provide orthopaedic services, with neurosurgery and ICU services set to begin within this month.
In an interview with Joy News, Marketing and Communications Manager of Stanbic Bank, which was a key funder of the project, Mawuko Afadzinu explained the company is always in support of such projects due to the impact it has on the Ghanaian populace.
“These are projects that the bank actively looks for and actively partners because of the cascading impact it has on the society.”
The Accra Medical Center hopes to complement the government’s efforts to produce quality health care in line with the Sustainable development goals.
