This afternoon, President Akufo-Addo and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, are expected to commission the Kumasi International Airport, which will be named after Nana Agyeman Prempeh I.
The commissioning of the airport is to ease air travel from the northern and middle belt regions of the country to meet the rising demand for international air travel.

An estimated 800,000 air passengers are expected to use the Kumasi facility annually.
