Businessman, Alexander Akwasi Aquah, has formally declared his intentions to contest the Akyem Oda constituency parliamentary primaries in the Eastern Region on the ticket of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr. Acquah picked the forms on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, in the company of his supporters and some party delegates.
The businessman has over the years implemented a number of development projects in the Akyem Oda Township key among them being the Kotokuman Education Trust Fund, an initiative of Alexander Akwasi Acquah Foundation (AAAF).
In 2019, he donated a 4x4 pick up vehicle to aid the party's day to day running in the constituency.
He also helped in guaranteeing an interest free loan scheme to polling station officers to the tune of GH¢300,000.
This enabled many of them to invest the funds into income generating ventures that saw them become financially independent rather than relying on handouts from politicians.
In an address shortly after picking his form, Mr. Acquah pledged to conduct a campaign devoid of personal attacks and maintain the peaceful atmosphere the NPP has enjoyed in the area.
Mr. Acquah’ who is also the Chief Executive Officer of The Community Hospitals Group, recently presented 300 banquet chairs valued at È»32,000 to the Akim Oda Central Assembly of the Christ Apostolic Church International.
His medical facility which has branches scattered across the country has been promoting healthy living and free screening for residents within the catchment area of the Oda Community Hospital.
The former spokesperson for the National Health Insurance Authority is the recipient of the ‘Osagyefo Award’ for Excellence in Health Service Provider at the 2018 edition of the Eastern Star Awards & Paramountcy Trade Expo.
The businessman operates The Community Hospital and Mortuaries in Akyem Oda, Kukurantumi, Somanya and Adeiso all in the Eastern Region. Other facilities operated by the TCH Group are The Community Hospital in Ashongman Estates, Trinity Community Hospital in Ashaiman as well as Kaneshie Medical Centre, all in the Greater Accra Region.
