Founder and leader of the Movement for Change and Alliance for Revolutionary Change, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has extended his congratulations to former President, John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on their victory in the 2024 general elections.
In a statement, Mr Kyerematen noted that while the Electoral Commission (EC) is yet to formally declare the results, it is evident that the Ghanaian electorate has made their decision clear.
He urged all Ghanaians to respect the will of the people once the official announcement is made, emphasising the importance of preserving the peace and stability of the nation.
"I urge all Ghanaians to accept the decision of the Ghanaian electorate once the official results are released, in order to preserve the peace of our dear nation," Mr Kyerematen stated.
He also commended the responsible conduct of all presidential and parliamentary candidates, which, he said, contributed to making the 2024 elections one of the most peaceful in Ghana’s history.
Acknowledging the unfortunate incidents that marred the electoral process, Mr Kyerematen expressed his condolences to the families of the individuals who lost their lives and extended sympathies to those who sustained injuries during the elections.
He stated that the election was not about winners or losers but about the triumph of Ghana as a nation.
"Let us all remember that there are no winners or losers in this election. It is Ghana that has emerged victorious, through the mercy and grace of our Living God," he added.
