Lawyer and Senior Vice President of IMANI-Africa, Kofi Bentil, has described Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, as the finest presiding officer Ghana has produced under the Fourth Republic, applauding his stewardship of the legislative arm of government.
Mr Bentil praised the Speaker’s firm yet measured handling of parliamentary business, citing in particular his recent management of issues arising from the Kpandai re-run elections.
According to him, Mr Bagbin’s leadership reflects institutional maturity, procedural clarity and an unwavering commitment to parliamentary integrity.
"I have said and I repeat, Speaker Bagbin is my favorite Speaker of the whole fourth republic. He takes decisions, he makes moves, he goes into spaces which are controversial..."

Mr Bentil said the Speaker’s conduct continues to set a high benchmark for legislative governance, reinforcing public confidence in Parliament as a cornerstone of Ghana’s democratic architecture.
