The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Alfred Amoah and his driver have been reported dead in an accident on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
Sources say the accident, which involved multiple vehicles, occurred when a trailer truck with registration number AS 4229-X lost control around Apedwa and crashed into his vehicle.
While the trailer was said to be traveling from Kumasi towards Accra, the MCE and his driver were moving from Accra to Kumasi.

According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle, with registration number GN 2060-18 was damaged beyond recognition; trapping the occupants within.
The victims were taken to the Kibi Government Hospital for treatment.
In a post confirming his death, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia commiserated with the family and loved ones of the late MCE and his driver.
He said his death is a great loss to the government and the people of the municipality.
According to him, the late MCE and his driver dedicated themselves to the course of the party and the government.
“Sad to hear the death of Hon. Alfred Amoah, MCE for Bibiani Anwiaso Bekwai Municipal Asembly and his driver Samuel Gyasi. Both Alfred and Samuel have been dedicated patriots who served with dignity and passion.”
Dr. Bawumia prayed for their departed souls.
