Ho Technical University emerged as the star school of the day for the third time after winning the hearts of the judges with their two square meals prepared to perfection.
The 8th week of Joy Prime’s culinary combat, Big Chef Tertiary saw the 5 teams left in the competition show up in the kitchen with their A-game to impress the judges with their recipes and hopefully escape eviction.
In this episode, the contestants were tasked by Chef Sam and Chef Tracy to prepare two full-course meals. A vegetarian dish and creamy soup with any bread of their choice. Each team was given 5 minutes to shop ingredients from the open market.
Chef Sam and Chef Tracy reminded the 15 contestants to use their ingredients wisely, keep their stations clean, and exhibit teamwork for the successful completion of the task.
Ghanaian comedian Lexi the Comic, a guest judge for the episode, revealed that one of the teams on the show is representing his alma mata.
Though he refused to mention the school until after the show, he encouraged all contestants to give their best and make him proud.
"Fortunately, I have one of my tertiary schools in there, but I don’t want to open up because people may say I am being biased if I make them the star school of the day. So, I will mention it at the end of the episode. I just hope all the contestants will make me proud with their amazing meals," he said.
After the 60 minutes elapsed, the judges were kind enough to add an additional 10 minutes as most contestants were behind time.
Finally, all movements in the kitchen were halted by the judges, and all contestants were ordered to present their meals for their verdict.
After tasting each team's meal, the judges, together with Lexi the Comic, decided to crown representatives of Ho Technical University, Sandra, Godsway, and Elizabeth, the star school of the day as they were highly impressed with their meals.
Ho Technical University remains the only school to win the star school of the day three times this season, and they radiated joy and happiness as the realization dawned on them.
Lexi the Comic, who was highly impressed by their performance in the kitchen, congratulated them and encouraged them to keep impressing the judges.
The other schools were also applauded for their efforts and advised to visit the drawing board, do more research, and practice more as another eviction is very close.
