Black Queens head coach Nora Hauptle says the friendly game against Japan has come at the right time for her team's rebuilding g process.
Ghana will face Japan in a friendly game on Saturday, July 13, in a game that will serve as preparation for the later in their quest for Olympic Games success.
The game will also be an opportunity for the Black Queens who continue to test their strength, this time, against a country in the top 10 of the world ranking.
Speaking ahead of the game, Hauptle revealed the importance of the fixture to her team.
"For us, it's the first task that we have against a top-ten country," she said.
"Worldwide, we know that Japan was the world champion in 2011. We know that in the world ranking, they are now number seven. So for us, it's a high-class team we are facing. It is exactly what we want and need to prove in certain areas."
On her approach to the game, the Swiss trainer cautioned her players to pay attention to their defence when they take to the field.
"We know Ghana is a ball possession team, but against Japan, we also need to defend very smart because Japan likes to have the ball with quick transition moments.
"We have observed the opponent very well, so for us, it's about having a very smart game plan and trying to surprise you a little bit.
"But we will see tomorrow how we are going to enter the game, and we will take it from there."
The game is set to kick off at 6:20 am on Saturday, July 13 at the Kanazawa Go Go Curry Stadium.
