Charles Bissue

Chief Executive Officer of Tiger Eye P.I, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has denounced the defence put up by Charles Bissue for his misconduct captured in the documentary dubbed ‘Galamsey Fraud Part 1’.

Charles Bissue in an interview on The Pulse on Friday, October 7, 2022, said he is innocent of the allegations levelled against him.

“The crux of it is that the Police did their investigations and exonerated me. The Special Prosecutor carried out his investigations as well.”

However, Anas in a statement on October 7 replying to the claims by Charles Bissue, said the investigations contained in the 2019 documentary in which Charles Bissue was cited for bribery and corruption are the true representation of what transpired.

“Tiger Eye's position, conduct and approach to all investigations are based on truth, facts and audio-visual evidence. Tiger Eye affirms and maintains its investigations and conclusions in the Galamsey Fraud documentary about Mr. Charles Bissue and other staff at the dissolved IMCIM.

“Any claims or allegations to the contrary are false and without merit. Mr. Charles Bissue engaged in bribery and corruption and Tiger Eye uncovered this in the form of audio-visual evidence when undercover journalists posed as owners of an abandoned mining company,” Anas said.

The Investigative Journalist further debunked Charles Bissue’s allegation that a team from Tiger Eye P.I solicited money from him to discard the audio-visual evidence.

Anas said the claim is a ‘figment of his imagination” and a “mantra by persons caught in undercover investigations to say it was published to disgrace them after they failed to pay monies.”

According to Anas, all the persons who were cited for bribery and corruption in the said documentary have not been able to prove their innocence in a court of competent jurisdiction.

He contended that, Mr. Bissue’s claim “defies logic and exposes the incoherence” in his narrative that the Tiger Eye P.I team demanded some amount of money when the documentary had already been aired.

Meanwhile, Charles Bissue says he has had enough of the name calling, especially by persons in the opposition National Democratic Congress, who associate him with corrupt practices in the mining sector.

He denied claims by the NDC that he is involved in galamsey, insisting that the Ghana Police Service has exonerated him from any wrongdoing.

"The crux of it is that the Police did their investigations and exonerated me. The Special Prosecutor carried out his investigations as well. But I thought that for example, the former Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, he owes this country a duty of care as well, because the investigations that he carried out… at that time he actually invited everybody and I wish to see the handing over notes he gave the new Special Prosecutor who was lawyer for Anas in that matter,” he told Blessed Sogah on The Pulse.
