English Premier League side Chelsea has promoted English-born Ghanaian players Josh Acheampong and Tyrique George to the first team, marking a major milestone in their careers.
The duo, who joined Chelsea at the age of eight, have progressed through the club's youth system.
In a statement released on their official website, Chelsea commended their dedication and hard work leading up to this achievement.
"The two 18-year-olds were part of the first-team squad that traveled to the US for our pre-season tour in the summer and have been training regularly since then, with both featuring in the Conference League and EFL Cup this season," the club wrote.

The statement also highlighted their long-term commitment to the club.
"George signed a long-term contract in the summer, and this week Acheampong followed suit, signing a deal that will keep him at the club until 2029."
The promotion was made official in a heartwarming moment shared with the squad.
"This afternoon, they were officially welcomed into the first-team squad on a permanent basis. After a few kind words from head coach Maresca, the rest of the team applauded as the duo received personalized signs for their lockers."
Despite representing England at youth levels, both Acheampong and George remain eligible to play for Ghana at the senior international level.
