The country has lost seventeen mores lives within 48 hours in its fight against the coronavirus disease.
According to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) in its latest update, the death toll currently stands at 1,069.
As of September 1, the total number of active cases recorded was 6,971.
One hundred and twenty-seven of these cases are severe whereas 52 others are considered critical.

About 393 new cases have been recorded by the Ghana Health Service.
Cumulatively, the country's total confirmed cases stand at 121,307. So far, the GHS has discharged 113,267 individuals who recovered from the virus.
Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Health Directorate has extended the vaccination exercise for the second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine by six days to inoculate more people.
Also, government has received one of its largest shipment of Covid-19 vaccines yet – 1.2 doses of Moderna vaccines through the COVAX Facility.
The shipment arrived on Saturday, September 4, at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
