The Ebenezer Congregation of the Presbyterian church of Ghana at Sefwi-Asawinso under the Sefwi Presbytery has donated 42 mathematical sets to the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates of the Asawinso M/A Junior High school ‘B’.
Presenting the Mathematical sets, Reverend Vincent Kpakpa, Asawinso District Minister and Ebenezer congregation Resident Minister, said the church placed importance on human development, hence the decision of the church to donate mathematical sets to the BECE candidates to support them in their Examination.
He said the church over the years gave out mathematical sets to its members who wrote BECE and had been donating same to BECE candidates of Asawinso M/A Junior high school B in the last three years.
The Reverend Minister encouraged the candidates not to be afraid since according to him, the good Lord was with them and advised them to avoid Examination malpractices and write what they had been taught to pass and pass well.
Mr Thomas Afful headteacher, Asawinso M/A junior high school B, on behalf of the candidates, thanked the leadership of the church for their continuous donations and support in the last three years, which he noted had helped to improve upon the school’s performance in the BECE over the years.
He maintained that mathematical sets were important materials, especially during examinations and promised to ensure the candidates used them for the intended purpose so as to make the church and the community proud.
Some of the candidates expressed gratitude to the church since not all candidates could afford the mathematical sets and promised to make good use of them, especially in the Examination all.
