Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, has emphasised the importance of strengthening collaboration with the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), a leading institution dedicated to boosting human, institutional, and policy capacities across Africa.
The Minister shared the update on his social media pages on Wednesday, January 31, following a meeting with ACBF officials.
He described the organisation as “a specialised agency of the African Union with over 40 member countries” that plays a “pivotal role in strengthening Africa’s institutional, human and policy capacities.”

Dr Jinapor explained that discussions centred on potential areas of collaboration, including training and capacity development, policy formulation, access to electricity, and the energy transition.
“Our discussions focused on opportunities for mutual collaboration… and how we can work together to advance development across the continent,” he said.

He also highlighted the strategic significance of the African School of Regulation (ASR), noting that it serves as “a critical platform for enhancing regulatory capacity, supporting evidence-based policymaking, and advancing sustainable development across Africa.”
Dr Jinapor concluded by expressing optimism about the partnership, adding: “I look forward to strengthening this partnership in support of Africa’s development and transformation agenda,” underscoring the role of collaborative initiatives in achieving sustainable progress.
