A domestic fire that broke out at Ofankor near Roland Hotel has destroyed several wooden structures and their contents, but a swift response by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) prevented the blaze from spreading to nearby buildings.
According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Greater Accra Regional Command on Friday, July 17, firefighters from the Amasaman and Madina Fire Stations responded promptly to the incident.

The firefighting teams mounted a coordinated operation to contain and extinguish the blaze, successfully preventing it from engulfing adjoining structures in the area.

Although the fire destroyed several wooden structures and all their contents, the GNFS confirmed that no injuries or fatalities were recorded.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation as officers work to determine the circumstances surrounding the outbreak.

The Ghana National Fire Service has urged the public to observe fire safety measures and report fire emergencies promptly to facilitate rapid response and minimise property damage.
