The Ministry of Works and Housing has received five bids for the completion of the over 1,500 unfinished units of the Saglemi Housing project.
These bids are now pending evaluation by an independent entity, which will be selected with the assistance of the Public Procurement Authority on Wednesday, according to sector minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.
The independent evaluation entity will assess the bids and submit a report as part of the government’s transparent process to secure a partner for the Saglemi Housing project.
Following the bid submissions, Mr Oppong Nkrumah informed the media that the chosen accounting firm would present the evaluation report within seven days, after which the preferred bidder would be selected to complete the project.
“We have received five bids. From today, we have already requested the Public Procurement Authority to help us select an independent evaluation entity.
"And I do understand that about four organisations have been pre-qualified by the Public Procurement Authority, out of which we will select one.
“On Wednesday, as I mentioned, we will select the independent evaluation entity and we will handle these bids to the independent evaluation entity.
"And according to our work programme, within seven days we are expecting to receive the revert from the independent evaluation entity, which will tell us which of these five bidders is a preferred bidder.”
The completion of the Saglemi Housing project is eagerly anticipated, as it promises to provide much-needed housing units and contribute to addressing the housing deficit in the country.
