Former skipper of Ghana's U-17 side, Eric Ayiah, has passed his medical ahead of a move to Portuguese top flight side Gil Vicente, Joy Sports can confirm.
Ayiah is expected to sign a three-year deal with the team after completing his medical tests on Tuesday, August 23.
The forward will sign for the Primeira Liga side from AS Monaco after failing to break into the French team since joining them.
The striker made headlines in 2017 in leading Ghana to the Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Gabon and the Fifa U17 World Cup in India.
At the U17 Afcon five years ago, Ayiah netted four times to finish second top scorer at the tournament.
Ayiah scored three goals in five appearances at the World Cup also before being snapped up by the Ligue 1 side.
However, he has failed to establish himself as a first-team player since the move promoting a move away from the club.
Gil Vicente are expected to confirm his capture in the coming days with just one year left on his deal with Monaco.
Ayiah was one time likened to PSG and France striker Kylian Mbappe, who also developed through the Monaco youth system to the senior team before moving to Paris Saint Germain in 2017.
The Ghanaian was also hoping for the same path and was determined to prove his worth.
However, with that dream far from being achieved, a move to Portugal for the 22-year-old is said the deal that will breathe life into his career.
Gil Vicente finished fifth in the Portuguese league last season and have four points from three games in the ongoing 2022/23 season.
