In Alogboshie, a transformative chapter began on Thursday, December 14, as Housing Minister Asenso-Boakye initiated the GARID Project's community upgrading works.
From primary and secondary drains to access roads, waste management, and extended utilities, the endeavor aimed to uplift the low-income settlement. Minister Asenso-Boakye, emphasising the project's broader impact, announced similar initiatives for Akweteyman and Nima, addressing persistent flooding issues.

Notably, the Minister unveiled plans for a Flood Early Warning System (FEWS) in collaboration with key agencies. This system, a shield against impending floods, would offer residents advanced notice, a crucial step in safeguarding lives and property. Equipping institutions with necessary tools, Minister Asenso-Boakye underscored the commitment to proactive flood management.
MP for Okaikwei North, Theresa Lardi Awuni also emphasized the communal effort required for flood resilience, acknowledging that every developmental stride demands sacrifices.

“It is essential to know that Developmental projects come with a lot of sacrifices, so I’m pleading with members of the community to corporate and make this project a success”
As Alogboshie's landscape transforms, these initiatives weave a narrative of resilience, community empowerment, and a shared commitment to mitigating the challenges faced by low-income settlements under the GARID Project.
