Gender Minister Cynthia Morrison has cautioned against sharing of Ghanaian actress Akuapim Poloo's nude picture with her son.
The Minister said sharing of the picture is equally an offense, therefore, Ghanaians must desist from the act.
“The Ministry wishes to reiterate that the posting of nude pictures on social media at all times is a serious offence and all must desist from the act,” a statement issued by the Gender Minister said.
To celebrate her son’s birthday, the social media star Akuapem Poloo did a photoshoot with her son while she was stark naked, an act that has received massive backlash from the public.
Subsequently, the Executive Director of Child Right International, Bright Appiah petitioned the Police to investigate the matter after the actress was criticised for the act.
Although the actress has apologised for the act and removed the picture from her page, she has been invited by the police to report for preliminary investigations to begin, a request that is yet to be honoured by the actress.
The Gender Ministry, however, has also gotten involved in the issue saying her sector is liaising with the appropriate agencies to deal with the matter.
She, therefore, has urged the public to stop posting the picture as "this too is an offence."
