7:56am: There is no better place to start from than to recap the country's version of 'El-Clasico' between Asante Kotoko and nemesis Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium. The Porcupine Warriors defended the annual trophy after defeating Hearts of Oak 2-1. Kordzi's opener for the Phobians was cancelled out by defender Mohammed Alhassan's own goal. 8:18pm: Asante Kotoko gaffer Maxwell Konadu believes his tactical ingenuity earned Kotoko a 2-1 win over arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in Sunday's Super Cup. "I think, Hearts played well in the first half. When they switched to 4-3-3 in the second half, they were giving us a lot of problems in the midfield,'' Konadu said. “We took the risk by going to the 4-4-2 and it paid off and we quickly switched to 4-5-1 [formation] to make sure that we closed the game, but it wasn't easy. 9:50am: His counterpart, Kim Grant was 'pleased' with the performance of the Phobians but claims the first goal of Kotoko should not have stood. ''I just thought that the game was pretty tight and they took the chances, we didn't. We had chances. They actually had two chances and they scored them. Obviously the first half was pretty even. I think there was a bit of nervousness as well. But overall, I was quite pleased, we can still play better. ''So for me, I was quite pleased with the way we played, but we can still improve on certain matters of the game but I believe that maybe the first goal was offside but that's part and parcel of of football.'' Grant said in his post-match conference.
