Mawuli was heavily involved during Betis' pre-season, impressing under the tutelage of Manuel Pellegrini.
The 21-year-old initially moved to Europe in 2022 from Ghanaian lower-tier side Shooting Stars, before being a regular feature for Betis' youth team.
The combative midfielder suffered an injury which kept him out for quite a long time before making a return last season.
Mawuli will hope he gets minutes under his belt against Elche and be a mainstay in the first team.
