The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) celebrated the creativity, resilience and leadership of Ghanaian businesses at the 5th Chamber Business Awards, held on Saturday, November 8, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The awards, staged under the theme Revitalising Ghana’s Development Agenda through Strategic Public–Private Collaboration, recognised firms across manufacturing, agribusiness, finance, energy, hospitality, logistics, telecommunications, export trade, pharmaceuticals, and fashion.
The ceremony brought together policymakers, diplomats, development partners and industry leaders to acknowledge private sector contributions to national growth.
GNCCI President, Stéphane Miezan, urged awardees to sustain their drive amid economic headwinds.
"These awards highlight the vision, integrity, and innovation that define Ghanaian enterprise. The private sector remains central to national growth, and it is our collective responsibility to sustain that momentum," he said.

Top honours on the night went to Dr Ofori Sarpong of Special Ice Ltd, who was named Chamber Businessman of the Year, and Nana Krobea Asante, CEO of Azmera Restaurant, who received the Chamber Businesswoman of the Year award.

Business News Editor at the Multimedia Group Limited, George Wiafe, was recognised as the Media Personality of the Year for 2024.

The Young Entrepreneur of the Year award was presented to Abraham Eghan, Chief Executive Officer of Hallmark Café..

Numerous other firms were recognised across sector-specific categories for outstanding performance and impact.
Awardees were selected by an independent panel of industry experts and institutional partners.
Criteria included innovation, financial performance, corporate governance, sustainability and social impact.
GNCCI partnered with the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, the Ghana Revenue Authority, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Energy Commission to ensure transparency and fairness in the process.
Messages from national institutions underlined the state’s commitment to stronger public–private collaboration and an enabling business environment.
In his remarks, Mr Miezan called for policy implementation that matches rhetoric, stressing improved access to credit and stronger local value chains as priorities for sustained growth.
The awards highlighted both the diversity of Ghana’s private sector and the role of responsible entrepreneurship in job creation and export development.
The organisers say the Chamber Business Awards have become one of the country’s most credible platforms for recognising business excellence and corporate citizenship.
The event drew a strong diplomatic and trade presence, reinforcing GNCCI’s role as a bridge between government and the private sector.
The 5th Chamber Business Awards closed with a renewed appeal for companies and policymakers to work together in translating private sector potential into tangible gains for the economy.
