The Ministry of Education has announced the release of GH₵50 million to the West African Examination Council (WAEC) to support the administration of the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The disbursement underscores the government's commitment to meeting its financial responsibilities to WAEC, ensuring that the organization can conduct these critical exams without any disruptions.
In a press statement released on Thursday, August 29, 2024, the Ministry emphasised its dedication to maintaining a stable and effective educational environment for all Ghanaian students.
The funds are expected to cover the costs associated with the logistics and operations required for the successful conduct of the BECE and WASSCE.
“We wish to reassure all stakeholders, especially students, parents, guardians, and the general public, of our dedication to sustaining an environment that fosters seamless, efficient, and high-quality education for all Ghanaian students,” the statement read.
