Asante Kotoko have been charged by the Ghana Football Association Regulatory Actions for misconduct during their matchday 23 game against Nations Football Club over the weekend.
The Porcupine Warriors suffered their fourth straight defeat in Ghana's top flight on Sunday as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Nations FC at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Asamoah Afriyie scored late in the opening half to seal all three points for the Premier League newcomers.
However, the three points lost were just the least of Kotoko's problems as actions from their fans have prompted a charge from the GFA.
According to an update from GFA Regulatory Actions on social media, the Kumasi-based side have been charged with breaching Section 16 of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019, and Section 34 (6) (d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019.
This, according to the FA's page, is due to the club's fans behaving inappropriately towards match officials on the day.
It also adds that text commentary from the club's social media pages on the match officials also 'constitutes misconduct'.
The club has been given until Wednesday, March 27, to respond to the charges levelled against them.
Kotoko have dropped to ninth on the Ghana Premier League table following their latest defeat.
