Bechem United extended their unbeaten run to nine games with a hard-fought victory over FC Samartex in a Matchday 14 clash of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
Heading into the match, the Hunters had won five and drawn three of their last eight games, sitting 3rd on the league table, just one point behind the leaders.
After a goalless first half, Bechem United struck early in the second period, with Darlvin Yeboah finding the net in the 47th minute.
Reigning champions FC Samartex struggled to find an equalizer, and their hopes of a comeback were dashed as the home side held firm to claim a narrow 1-0 victory.
The defeat extends Samartex’s winless streak to four games, leaving them 10th on the table, 17 points adrift of the league leaders.
Their season record now stands at four wins, five draws, and five losses.
Meanwhile, Bechem United’s title ambitions remain on track. They stay 3rd with 26 points, just one behind league leaders Hearts of Lions.
