The trouble began in the 52nd minute when tempers flared, and aggrieved Kotoko players clashed with their Nsoatreman counterparts over a challenge.
Tensions escalated further, with a section of the home supporters allegedly pelting stones onto the pitch.

In an attempt to retaliate, Justice Blay, Kyei Dwamena goalkeeper Camara Mohammed were sent off, leaving the Porcupines with eight men while Nsoatreman's Stephen Diyou was also giving his marching orders.
After the brawl was halted and play resumed, substitute Gabriel Bonnah struck the decisive goal with nine minutes of normal time remaining, securing all three points for the hosts.
Nsoatreman’s victory lift them to 14th on the table, while Kotoko drop to second, level on points with leaders Gold Stars.
In a statement, Kotoko "strongly condemns the violence and unacceptable incident" and revealed that their head of media sustained "a serious ear injury after being struck by an object."
The Ghana Football Association is yet to respond to the incident.
