Berekum Chelsea returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory over Vision FC in their Ghana Premier League clash at the Golden City Park on Sunday.
The Berekum-based side, who had gone three games without a win, showed greater purpose and control throughout the encounter, dominating possession and creating several scoring opportunities.
However, their persistent struggles in front of goal continued, as they failed to make their dominance count beyond a single strike.
Seidu Abubakar emerged the match winner, scoring the decisive goal to become Chelsea’s fifth different scorer this season — a reflection of the team’s collective effort, but also a reminder of their search for a consistent goal-getter.
The victory lifts Chelsea to eight points and eases some pressure on head coach Samuel Boadu, who will be encouraged by his team’s improved performance. They will next make the trip to Kpando to face Heart of Lions in their next league fixture.
For Vision FC, the defeat marks their second straight loss on the road. Despite being level on points with Chelsea, they sit a place higher in 12th position and will be hoping to bounce back when they take on Eleven Wonders next weekend.
