Albert Amoah returned to Asante Kotoko with a bang following his performance in the club’s win over Basake Hoky Stars.
The forward was on the scoresheet for the Porcupine Warriors as they picked up a 3-0 win over Holy Stars on matchday 20 of the Ghana Premier League.
Abdul Karim Zito’s side had gone three games without a win prior to the home game against Holy Stars.
However, they took a deserving lead in the 30th minute through Samba O’Neil who scored from the penalty spot.
The goal was all the could offer in the opening 45 minutes despite the missed opportunities.
The return from recess came a different Kotoko side, who threw everything at the visitors.
The second goal came in the 74th minute when Amoah, who came off the bench, hit an incredible acrobatic shot to double Kotoko’s advantage.
Results when from bad to worse for Holy Stars as Kwame Poku, who was also introduced later into the game, scored another stunner to make it 3-0.
The result takes Kotoko into third position on the league table, eight behind league leaders Medeama SC.
Kotoko will face Heart of Lions in their next league game while Holy Stars host Berekum Chelsea.
